Our training courses are advertised through schools and this website. We aim to offer courses at approximately 20 venues per year. Courses focus on supporting new and established teachers in promoting effective learning through application of:
- principles of assessment for learning to engage students in their own learning
- ICT for creative thinking
- concept mapping for developing conceptual understanding
- use of other visual organisers such as learning maps, learning wall and
question grids
- learning objectives linked to learning outcomes for a shared view of what is to
be learned
- techniques to develop questioning skills of teachers and students (use of wait
times, Socratic questioning, higher order questioning, planned questions,
questions linked to learning objectives)
We also offer training in:
- performance management and developing schools as training organisations
- use of ICT for budgeting, curriculum planning and staff deployment for aspiring
school leaders
- managing the teaching and learning strand of the KS3 strategy
- consultancy in leadership both for senior and middle leaders
